I Have completed 7 blogs this semester . I would give myself a C .

2.) Predict your final exam grade and your final semester grade ( average 3 test & blog ) .
I predict my final exam grade will be a d or d+ & my final semester grade will be a d- .

3.) Research fun chemistry. Keeping in mind safety, What would you like to learn next semester ?
Next semeser i would like to do more fun & interesting labs & fun projects .

Energy

Potential energy is the same as stored energy. The "stored" energy is held within the gravitational field. When you lift a heavy object you exert energy which later will become kinetic energy when the object is dropped

Kinetic Energy

                               

The word "kinetic" is derived from the Greek word meaning to move, and the word "energy" is the ability to move. Thus, "kinetic energy" is the energy of motion --it's ability to do work. The faster the body moves the more kinetic energy is produced. The greater the mass and speed of an object the more kinetic energy there will be.

Balancing Chemical Euations



A chemical equation is balanced when the number of atoms of each type on each side of the equation is the same.

Chemical Reaction

A chemical reaction is a process that leads to the transformation of one set of chemical substance to another .Chemical reactions can be either spontaneous requiring no input of energy, or non-spontaneous, typically following the input of some type of energy, such as heat, light or electricity. Classically, chemical reactions encompass changes that strictly involve the motion of electrons in the forming and breaking of chemical bonds,although the general concept of a chemical reaction, in particular the notion of a chemical equation is applicable to transformations of elementary particles

The Law of Conservation of Matter & Mass

In the law of conservation of mass or matter, the mass in a system that is closed will be constant. Matter can never be destroyed .

Water Testing

Murcury , Lead , and Arsenic are bad metals to have in our water . Murcury damages the first cell it touches just instantly , and causes organ disfunction. It also causes weakness, headaches, hunger, vision problems, loss of muscle coordination, anxiety, personality changes, memory loss, irrational thinking, delirium, coma and death.

Mixtures

For our lab we used foul water , it had : water , oil , coffee grains , garlic & salt . Before the treatment the foul water was orange , black and tan . There was no clarity and it smelled like garlic . There was 40 mL of oil , 10 mL of water and the volume was 100 mL . We Seperated the water and oil by taking the oil out and putting it in a seperate beaker . The color of the oil was orange , there was still no clarity and it still smelled like garlic . The presence of oil was 25 mL , no solid and the volume was 25 mL . With The water left after the seperation we put it through sand . The water went through the sand & into another cup . The water was now tintly clear and still smelled like garlic . The volume was now 20 mL . After the sand filter , we put charcoal into a filter and put the water through . The charcoal took away the sand particles and the water was a bit clear and had a tint of yellow . The water now smelled less like garlic & there was no presence of particles . The volume of the water was 20 mL .
